In The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans, a mother mourns the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. While the story itself is fiction, it is believed that the angel monument once existed but was destroyed, Evans, in response to learning that grieving parents were seeking the angel monument after reading the book, commissioned a new angel statue.
The Angel of Hope at St. Anne's is one of a limited number throughout the country. It was dedicated on September 15, 2007, Annually, on December 6th, a candlelight ceremony is held at the base of the statue remembering those children whose lives have been lost but through whom there is hope.
